Little Red Riding Hood

Little Red Riding Hood

Once upon a time there lived a girl named Little Red Riding Hood who lived with her mother in a little cottage. One day Little Red Riding Hood’s grandmother was very ill, so Little Red Riding Hood’s mother baked some custard tarts for grandmother. After that her Mum said to Little Red Riding Hood “Go and get your red cape, put it on. When you're done come in the kitchen, get the basket of tarts for grandma”. So she replied “Yes certainly Mum” so she went in the room, grabbed her cape then she went into the kitchen, then out she went.
Soon the Big Bad Wolf popped up out of a tree, but Little Red Riding Hood didn’t notice so she kept on walking. Straight after that  the big bad wolf quickly ran to  grandma’s cottage and the Big Bad Wolf was knocking on the door. Then Grandma said “ Who is it?”. Then the big bad wolf replied”It’s me Little Red Riding Hood”. So grandma said “Oh do come in”. So the big bad wolf came in and saw her in the bed. So the big bad wolf dragged Grandma out of bed and ate her from head to toe.

That was the end of Grandma. Suddenly Little Red Riding Hood came and was knocking on the door. The Big Bad Wolf said “Who is it”? “Its me Little Red Riding Hood”. After that the Big Bad Wolf said “ Come in my darling” so Little Red Riding Hood came in and placed the custard tarts next to the bed. Finally Little Red Riding Hood noticed. She said to the Big Bad Wolf “What hairy arms you’ve got” said Little Red Riding Hood “All the best to hug you with my darling” replied the Wolf. Suddenly she noticed something else“ What big teeth you’ve got” said Little Red Riding Hood.  “All the better to eat you up my darling” said the Wolf. Then GULP the wolf ate Little Red Riding Hood.  The wood cutter heard her scream and he got his gun. He went into Grandma’s cottage and shot the big bad wolf. The wood cutter cut the his stomach open and out popped Grandma and Little Red Riding Hood.  After that Grandma said “What are these tarts doing here?”. Little Red Riding Hood replied “Oh Mum said you were very ill and she thought you might like  some custard tarts” then grandma said “Oh thats nice of her”. Finally they ate the custard tarts  and they all lived happily ever after.

My Silhouette Art Reflection

Reflecting on my Silhouette Painting

1. Are you pleased with your Silhouette painting? why / why not?
Yes, because my sunset stands out. Also the blending colours in my picture are very awesome. I also love my artwork because my elephant really stands out.

2. What did you find easy when you created your silhouette painting?
I found the sunset pretty easy because we had to fold our papers in quarters and when we painted it, it was really easy to blend the paint.

3. What part did you find tricky when you were creating your Silhouette painting? -think about blending of colours, tracing round your animal and painting within your animal.
I found tracing the animal pretty hard because when you trace your picture and then take it off its sort of hard to try and see what you’ve traced.

4. Who / What helped you when you were painting?
Miss Paton with my artwork by explaining how to do the artwork.

5. What would you do differently next time? Think about: blending of colours, animal choice, presentation.
I could work on taking my time when I paint my shadows.

6. What frustrated you when you created your Silhouette painting?
I was frustrated because I was rushing to get my work done.

Current Event

Current Event Week 3 Term 1

Residents Flee Happy Valley scrub fire

A large fire started in Wellington suburb near Happy Valley.

70 residents were made to leave their houses as they could see the fire getting close to their houses.
The fire was in Happy Valley and it happened around about 2 am.
It has happened because someone set the fire on purpose and the fire fighter and the police are still investigating who started the fire.
I think that whoever started the fire should be sent to prison.

I feel sad that the people who got forced to get out of their houses  might not have anywhere to stay because there house has burnt down because of the silly person who set the fire.

All About Me

Malo Lelei.
Hi my name is Samantha.
I am 10 years old and my teacher is Miss Paton.
This is my first year in Room 5. In my spare time I like to play hand games with my friends and play on the computer at home.
My favourite food is butter chicken.
My favourite move is Alvin and the Chipmunks Chipwrecked.
Over the holidays I went to a place called Dunkirk Activity Centre and when I got there we went on a trip to the Maritime Museum in the city. When we got there we went in this big yacht and then we sailed on the harbour.
In room 5 I would like to complete my work on time this year and to get lots of blog posts up onto my blog.

My Netbook Reflection

Hi my name is Samantha Manu and this is a reflection about my Netbook. I go to Panmure Bridge School. I am a year 5 student and I am in room 7.

I love using my netbook because it helps me learn more and using my netbook can be better because it helps you find lots of information. Sometimes writing can be exhausting. When I use my netbook you can go on websites like Sumdog or Studyladder and go on the activities that your teacher has set you.

When you don’t look after your netbook sometimes your screen can freeze.   Also when you are using your netbook the most important thing is sometimes my keyboard does not work and do not download games or go on facebook because your netbook is for you to do school work and learn not to play around.

Something that is interesting about using netbooks is that you can type instead of writing because when you write it can be exhausting. Also something interesting about my netbook is when you draw you don't have to use a book to draw you can use a file named tux paint. Also while using your netbook it can be fun without using a book.
