Jim the New Zealand soldier was calling to somebody to help Karl the German soldier. Nipper the black fur dog arrives and Nipper bravely went back with a note and they were waiting for a really long time. While they were waiting they were talking about their families.
Karl showed Jim a photo of his family. It was a his family “ I have 2 daughters and a wife” Karl said Jim didn’t have a photo but he said to karl “I have a sister and a mother” Jim answered. Then rescue finally came their way.
The rescue tried to put Karl on the stretcher. They carried him all the to the hospital tents to help Karl but jim had to say goodbye and Jim gave Karl a red poppy to show a symbol of friendship.
