My Speech

Good afternoon students and teachers. Just think about a time where you have been bullied for what you look like, what you believe in and who you are? Doesn’t it hurt thinking about a time you were bullied? Thinking that there was no one to help you.

Take a look around you. Is there someone different from you? Well of course! Everyone is different. Not one person in this room looks the same as you. So tell me, why are people bullied because of their appearance, because of their beliefs and religions, because of being different?

Race is apart of who we are. Tease me about the things I can change. Mock me about the colour of my hair, or the way my teeth aren’t aligned. Don’t tease me for what I can’t change. Don’t mock me for the colour of the skin or the race I descend from.

Why do we think we have the authority to mock someone if they’re a different race? We were born to be real not to be perfect. So why should you choose to rule our life? Why is that we feel uncomfortable in a room full of unfamiliar faces?

Why do we bully? We were born the way we are. Racial Bullying is just wrong! Being unique is okay. What’s wrong with that? So why judge someone for being themselves? For being an individual? We must learn to find the similarities not the differences. We should be able to express who we really are without being cautious. We need to stand up to bullying, we need to end this! Racial bullying is never the answer.

My comment to Afu

This is my comment to Afu, about her creative display she did in Digital Technology at Tamaki College. If you go on her blog you can see why I said that it really catches my interest. It was her first time using scratch and she already knew what to do.

Cook Islands DLO

This is a presentation created about the culture of the Cook Islands. I created this presentation collaboratively with Fine and Sajiha. We found out a lot of information about the Cook Islands. We were very shocked about what we found because we didn't expect any of these responses. We found out that there are 15 islands all together.

Tongan Language Week DLO

This is a DLO created about the Culture of Tonga. I did this task as a individual and I had found out a lot of information. One thing I found out is that the Ngatu (Tapa) is a type of barkcloth made in the Pacific Islands. It comes from a tree called Paper Mulbery or its scientific name Broussonetia Pepyrifera.

Vincent Van Gogh DLO

This is a Prezi created on the famous artist Vincent Van Gogh. We had to research about him because we were practising on how to paint his famous sunflower artwork, so we gave it a try and we were very impressed with how good his art work was.
